My 926 Pro machine is six years old and gets a lot of use. The main symptoms were that the wheels locked when attempting to turn, and the wheels slipped when the machine would encounter resistance while moving forward or reverse. Also, I had no movement in the lower forward and reverse gears. I found ways to overcome the symptoms, but they got worse as time progressed to the point where the machine became virtually useless. I finally decided to change out the automatic differential and the friction disk. I could not find any instructions for changing the automatic differential. It ended up being a fairly straight forward job. Take off the wheel clips and then the wheels. At that point, the two-part axle comes apart and the differential slides right off. With the axle off, the entire drive assembly is very easy to clean and it really needed it (I now think the drive train should be thoroughly cleaned annually even though Ariens does not call for it).
